![]() I liked the fact that this story took a little bit of a different turn from the others. ![]() At first, they are both weary of each other and their motives behind agreeing to go on with the marriage but as time passes by, they realize that their hope for survival is each other. Charlotte is miserable because she can not stand the thought of being married to a notorious rake and drunk such as Lord Rutherford but things change as they both leave London and live together in Northumberland. It is due to this frustration that he offers Lord Rutherford a handsome dowry if he marries Charlotte on tcertain conditions and if things don’t work out in a year, he is free to be separated from her. Meanwhile, Charlotte Lancaster has attended five London seasons with no luck to get hooked to an eligible bachelor and her father is at his wits end. His father has just past away leaving behind so much debt except the “Marquess” title and he has had to sell everything to pay off their creditors. This story takes us to another character, Lord Chatham now Lord Rutherford who played a huge role in book 1 as Lord Artherbourne’s best friend. It can easily be read as a stand-alone but may be more entertaining if the books are read in order. ![]() This is the fourth book in the “Rescued From Ruin” Series. ![]()
